How do you maintain and remove colour paint protection film?

Maintaining colour paint protection film is the same as maintaining clear paint protection film.

Recommended care includes:

Washing regularly with automotive shampoo
Avoiding abrasive brushes or harsh chemicals
Drying with clean microfiber towels

When professionally removed using proper techniques, colour paint protection film can be safely taken off without damaging the original paint.

How is colour paint protection film installed?

Arlon Colour Protection Film features a pressure-activated adhesive and is installed using Wet Hybrid Installation.

On large, flat panels such as bonnets, roofs, and full side sections, Wet Hybrid Installation uses a light mist of water on the vehicle surface before laying the film. No shampoo is required. The water allows the film to be repositioned before it is pressed into place.

On smaller or curved areas such as mirrors, handles, and antennas, Wet Hybrid Installation can also be used with a small amount of water, or the film can be applied dry. The shape of these parts helps the adhesive bond quickly and evenly.

Contact lines that appear during installation are normal. They are caused by pressure and will fade naturally over time. Glue lines are different and permanent; they occur when the application process is interrupted, which is why maintaining consistent pressure throughout installation is important.

Professional installation is recommended for the best result and is required to maintain warranty coverage.
